ALIGARH MODERN SCHOOL

MAHILA TRAINING MARKAZ 

This is  a vocational training cum literacy programme for girls  and women from financially  under privileged sections of the society  especially from the minority communities. The  Markaz (Center) runs the following programmes : 

• Literacy, health and hygiene.
• Sewing, dress designing and cutting.
• Food craft and book binding.
• Tie and dye/ screen printing. 

The  Markaz was started  in 1993 and has benefitted  more than 900  girls/women  so far.  The Center  provides services without any fees.  The  classes are held in the school building  in the afternoon hours.
