History & Vision

The school is a private institution run under the auspices of the Shabbir Memorial Education Society. This institution was established by a group of professionals belonging to different fields of specialization with the vision of providing innovative, quality educational facilities particularly for minorities and economically weaker sections of the society. The foundation stone of the school was laid by Mr. Saiyid Hamid, former Vice Chancellor of A.M.U. in November 1997.

Aligarh Modern School forms the core of the activities of the society. As the school grows the other programmes of the society will also be strengthened.   

School Profile

Aligarh Modern School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is the largest educational board in the country.  The school has recently been granted affiliation to the C.B.S.E. (Delhi) up to class X.

Originally the primary school was located at the old campus at Dhoerra, Aligarh on a smaller plot of land. This plot of land has a total built up area of 638.6 m². The main campus of the school is coming up in a phased manner on a bigger plot of land measuring 15,000 m² located 7 k.m. away from the city center on Anoopshahar Road. This land has been acquired keeping in view the future needs of the school and also to fulfil the norms of the CBSE.

1,475 m² of the First Phase of the new campus has already been constructed along with the boundary wall costing about Rs. 74,00,000. We have also recently acquired a school bus for to and fro transport of the school children. The rest of the First Phase, consisting of 480 m² is yet to be taken up for construction. Various projects at the new campus at the Anoopshahar Road can be summarized as follows which will be taken up as we mobilize resources. Once Phase 2 is completed, this campus will ultimately possess all the modern educational and co-curricular facilities including a hostel for residence.
