History and Vision

The school is a private institution run under the auspices of the Shabbir Memorial Education Society. This institution was established by a group of professionals belonging to different fields of specialization with the vision of providing innovative, quality educational facilities particularly for minorities and economically weaker sections of the society. The foundation stone of the school was laid by Mr. Saiyid Hamid, former Vice-Chancellor of A.M.U. in November 1997.

Aligarh Modern School forms the core of the activities of the society. As the school grows the other programmes of the society will also be strengthened.

School Profile

Aligarh Modern School was granted affiliation upto Senior Secondary level with Science and Commerce Streams by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is the largest educational board in the country.

Originally the primary school was located at the old campus at Dhoerra, Aligarh on a smaller plot of land. This plot of land has a total built up area of 638.6 m2. The main campus of the school is coming up in a phased manner on a  larger plot of land measuring 15000 m2 located 7 k.m. away form the city center on Anoopshahar Road. This land has been acquired keeping in view the future needs of the school and also to fulfil the norms of the CBSE.

A total of 3200 m2 covered area of the First Phase of the new campus at Anoopshahar Road has already been constructed along with the boundary wall costing about Rs. 1,50,40,000. The project at the new campus is summarized as follows. Phase 2 will be taken up as we mobilize resources. Once Phase 2 is completed, this campus will ultimately possess all the modern educational  and co-curricular facilities including a hostel for residence.

FACILITIES AT ALIGARH MODERN SCHOOL

 

The school is proud to have a sprawling campus in serene and pollution free atmosphere on Anoopshahar Road with following facilities:

 

1.      Well equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs.

2.      A Computer lab.

3.      A library with adequate number of books, magazines and newpapers for students and staff.

4.      An auditorium of nearly 500 seating capacity used for school functions and indoor sports.

5.      Sports and games facilities including main outdoor and indoor games.

6.      Optional facility for Music, Karate and Yoga.

7.      Usage of audio visual aids.

8.      Annual medical check-up of all students of school.

9.      Transport facility.

 

SHABBIR MEMORIAL EDUCATION SOCIETY

 

Education is the corner stone of a just and vibrant society. However benevolent a social system may be, education of its minorities and deprived communities is a problem area of great significance which needs special attention. Shabbir Memorial Education Society, a registered non profit organization, was established by a group of professionals  and educationists with the following aims:

 

·        To provide quality educational facilities particularly for minorities and economically weaker sections of the society.

·        To impart education so as to develop self confidence and acquire appreciation of one’s religious, social and cultural environment and of the national heritage.

·        To encourage advancement of women, and

·        To establish vocational programmes to make the under privileged youth self supporting.

 

The following are the priority programmes running under the auspices of the of the society at present:

          EVENING EDUCATION CENTER,
